Nestlé PH achieves 100% Use of Renewable Electricity

1 min read

Nestlé Philippines, Inc. (NPI) has achieved a major milestone in its journey toward net zero greenhouse gas emissions by fully transitioning its Cagayan de Oro (CDO) factory to renewable electricity. This step, formalized on August 22, 2023, through partnerships with Mindanao Electric Systems (MINERGY) and Cagayan Electric Power and Light Company (CEPALCO), ensures that popular brands like NESCAFÉ, Coffee Mate, Bear Brand, Milo, and Maggi are now produced using renewable energy.

NPI Chairman and CEO Kais Marzouki highlighted this achievement as a critical part of the company’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint. He noted that while the transition to renewable electricity began with Luzon facilities in 2016 and seemed ambitious at the time, the company accomplished it two years ahead of schedule thanks to strong internal efforts and support from key partners.

This milestone demonstrates NPI’s dedication to sustainability and its leadership in driving the clean energy transition in the Philippines.
